The days he joyously spent running amok became more poignant as stared mournfully at Metro Man's statue, revealing his feelings towards his archenemy were not simply resentment but a mutual respect. Despite the initial enjoyment of causing chaos, Megamind quickly became unfulfilled. At the same time his long-term villainous plans left everything fairly status quo, basically the only evil he performed was petty vandalism and robbery. Following his redemption, he appears to have grown fond of lighter pop rock like Michael Jackson.Īfter successfully killing Metro Man and taking control of Metro City, Megamind was at first overjoyed by having full control. Megamind used to have a fondness for rock bands and artists such as Guns 'N' Roses, AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne. Megamind was fearless in this regard as Roxanne Ritchie describes him as someone who "never ran away from a fight, even when he had absolutely no chance of winning", regarding how he was fighting an almost all-powerful being is a testament to his bravery or perhaps his lack of self-preservation. He could be a narcissist at times and no matter his constant defeats and imprisonments at the hands of Metro Man his ego was never bruised. In this case Megamind is more of a vandal than an evil mastermind.Īside from his showboating ways, Megamind was far from a humble person and was usually quite vain, boastful and confident. When he took control over Metro City after he "killed" Metro Man, aside from robbing, taking control and causing mild destruction everything else remained the same, even telling the citizens to go about their "normal lives". However his long-term plans never involve killing anyone. He possesses all the stereotypical villain traits - an evil lair, robotic minions, dark clothes and constant bad puns towards his arch-rival, Metro Man. Showboating and dramatic, Megamind is very much a classical villain but far from a competent one. He indeed admits that he revels in the thrill of the chase, and thoroughly enjoys his role as the villain. Because of this Megamind is only a villain as he sees it as his purpose and the natural balance rather than megalomania or sadism. He was drawn to a life of villainy as it was the only thing throughout his childhood and adulthood that he was good at, being raised by criminals in a prison and the accidental bad deeds he performed while an adolescent helped with this matter. Megamind was driven by a sense of unfounded destiny and finding his own purpose in life. It was your best quality” ― Roxanne Ritchie's message to Megamind Even when he had absolutely no chance of winning. He shows his good side in dancing at the end of the film.“ The Megamind I knew would never run away from a fight. Warden is very stern but a good person nonetheless. Warden has blue eyes and used to have brown hair and a brown mustache, but turned grey with age. The Warden is seen again at the end of the movie, dancing with two guards as they watch, amused, Hal dancing in Megamind's old cell. When Megamind turns himself in to the prison, Warden handcuffs him and is later seen wishing good luck to Megamind and Minion when they go to save Roxanne and the city from Tighten. The Warden, as well as the guards who also were trapped with him, witnessed Megamind and Metro Man's battle, as well as the latter's apparent death, much to their dismay. Two guards, believing that Megamind had escaped, tazed and dragged him to Megamind's cell and while the Warden was being cuffed to the cell's chair, the real Megamind snatched his watch back and escaped disguised as the Warden, leaving the real Warden locked in his cell. Believing it to be an ordinary watch given to Megamind by Metro Man, the holo-watch recorded the Warden's appearance and disguised him as Megamind. The day of Megamind and Metro Man's last battle, The Warden (unwittingly) played an important role in Megamind's escape by keeping Megamind's holo-watch. According to the newspapers seen after Megamind was being carted off to prison, the Warden showed no empathy towards Megamind and looked down to him because of his appareance. A few years later, Warden was able to get him to attend a school for gifted children to get him to socialize with other children but failed miserably, mainly thanks to another alien boy who also attended the school and bullied young Megamind. Warden first appeared when he went to stop the prison break that a toddler Megamind caused and just in time to prevent him from escaping.
